Mr. Persons currently serves as the President
and Chief Executive Officer of Murphey, Taylor, and Ellis,
Incorporated in 1906, a Macon Georgia based corporation
specializing in commercial real estate sales, leasing, and property
management and development.
Prior to becoming President and CEO of Murphey, Taylor, and Ellis,
Mr. Persons held many positions at the company including Agent
in their Insurance Property and Casualty Division, Sales
Associate in the Residential Real Estate Division, Agent in the
Commercial Sales and Leasing Division, and Vice President and Head
of the Commercial Sales and Leasing Division.
Mr. Persons received his BS in Business Administration from the
Citadel in 1971 and is a Certified Commercial Investment Member
(CCIM) of the Commercial Investment Real Estate Institute.
In 1995 Murphey Taylor and Ellis, Inc. became an active partner in
a new venture to develop multi-family apartments. Mr.
Persons’ responsibilities included site selection, area
feasibility, financial feasibility, and was involved in securing
construction and permanent financing and property management.
From 1995 to the present Mr. Persons has been involved in
developing, owning and managing over 5,500 multi-family apartment
units in the states of Alabama (Huntsville and Montgomery); Georgia
(Augusta, Atlanta, Columbus, Griffin, Lovejoy, Macon and
McDonough); South Carolina (Columbia, Greenville, North
Charleston); and Tennessee (Chattanooga and Knoxville).
In 2000 Mr. Persons formed a Management Company, United Residential
Properties, to manage their portfolio and third party multi-family
apartments. Presently he oversees the company’s operations as

Taylor, and Ellis, Incorporated, a Macon, Georgia based corporation
specializing in residential and commercial real estate sales,
leasing, property management and development.
Prior to becoming Vice President of Murphey, Taylor, and Ellis, Mr.
Persons was a financial consultant for the Robinson-Humphrey
Company. Mr. Persons also worked as an attorney at Jones,
Cork, Miller & Benton.
Mr. Persons received his Bachelors in Business Administration from
the University of Georgia and a Jurist Doctorate from the Mercer
University School of Law.
Ms. Walton strives to maximize annual income and control property expenses through the effective development and training of her property managers. It is also her responsibility to develop and implement community business plans that strategically focus on expense control, budgeting, trend analysis, forecasting, and marketing. Ms. Walton determines the viability of new development sites, works exclusively with architects, engineers and construction management teams to achieve the desired proforma goals of the investors.
Prior to her position at URP, Ms. Walton was the Area Vice President of RAM Partners, Incorporated in Atlanta, Georgia, where she supervised the operations of 2000 multi-family units comprising of $175 million dollars in real estate assets. While employed with RAM, Ms. Walton successfully marketed and managed new construction, lease-up communities while achieving record setting occupancy goals.
Prior to her position at RAM Partners, Ms. Walton worked as the Area Manager for Dominion Management, Incorporated in Atlanta, Georgia, where she successfully completed four AA new-construction lease-ups with record setting goals and increased annual revenue of her portfolio by 5% in three consecutive years.
Ms. Walton received a BBA in Marketing from Georgia College and State University.
Prior to Ms. Mann joining United Residential Properties, she worked as a Vice President of Operations for a publicly traded REIT based in Atlanta, Georgia and was responsible for a portfolio of 2,183 units.
Ms. Mann’s extensive knowledge ranges from the on-site daily operations and corporate functions for stabilized, new construction, rehabs, and acquisitions as well as due diligence tasks. She is responsible for the implementation of all URP training programs focusing on specific needs for senior and new employees.
Ms. Mann recognizes the importance of high standards and competent, friendly and professional staff at each of our communities. It is for this reason that each of our employees completes an intense level of online training classes focusing on customer service, communication skills, leasing, marketing and maintenance. By focusing on extensive customer service training, we provide an exceptional living experience for each and every resident.
She also organizes corporate marketing campaigns to position each properties individual marketing strategies in the media. She oversees the development of all property and company websites, and companywide marketing opportunities. She is the liaison between onsite personnel and vendor representations to ensure the target goals are met company wide.
Ms. Mann has completed her work to receive her Accredited Residential Manager (ARM) designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), her Certified Apartment Manager (CAM) through the local Atlanta Apartment Association and her Certified Apartment Property Supervisor (CAPS) designation through the National Apartment Association.
Mr. Lloyd is the Director of Maintenance and joined United Residential Properties in October 2000. He currently oversees approximately two thousands units in four states around the southeast. In the past he has supervised up to thirty two hundred units. His primary objectives are, but not limited to, providing technical support and training to all on site personnel, developing maintenance policies, procedures, and guidelines. He is also responsible for all the training and hiring of the onsite maintenance staff.
Mr. Lloyd oversees all of the capital improvement projects beginning with the scope of work, bid solicitation, and making sure there is a proper Certificate of Insurance on file. Once the project begins, he monitors the progress and ensures all the proper procedures are followed by the contractor including the draw request for payment and proper lien releases have been received. Once the project is completed according to the scope of work, he will inspect before releasing final payment. He has managed capital projects totaling over two million dollars in cost for improvements.
Mr. Lloyd is the liaison between construction and property management. He reviews plans, conducts framing inspections, and inspects all new developments as they are turned over from construction to management. He bridges the gap between management and construction with his insights and valuable suggestions to both sides. Mr. Lloyd provides punch lists for both interiors and exteriors for new construction to ensure the turnover process goes as smooth as possible. He has conducted inspections on 20 properties totaling over 5000 units since joining the United Residential Properties team.
Mr. Lloyd has been with United Residential for over 16 years, and has 30 years of experience in the multi-family business. He is a Proctor for the EPA and can certify our employees for proper refrigerant usage without having to outsource this training; in addition he is a Certified Pool Operator.
Mr. Lloyd attended Vanderbilt University, and he continues to educate himself by completing various apartment association classes and has goals of becoming a Certified Mold Remediater and a Home Inspector.
